About The Race
Formula 1 grands prix are more than results. They are moments embedded in history.
AboutTheRace.com is an independent publication dedicated to telling the full story of Formula 1 grands prix — not just who won, but how they won, what it meant for the championship, who the drivers were, and what was happening in the world outside the circuit gates on that same day.
Every race in our archive includes the race narrative, key results told in prose, the championship context, a look at the world that week, and the weather conditions. We believe the sport's history is best understood with context: a race at Imola in 1994 means something different when you know what was happening in the world that spring.
What we cover
We focus on Formula 1 for now, covering races from across the sport's history — from the very first World Championship race at Silverstone in 1950 to the present day. Our aim is to expand the archive continuously, adding new races and deepening existing entries over time.
We are an independent site with no affiliation with Formula One Management, the FIA, or any team or driver. Formula 1 is a trademark of Formula One Licensing B.V.
